Will this work with broadband/dsl? I currently have AT&T U-Verse, and am unsure of compatibility.

This can't replace your U-Verse hardware because it has no modem. It can add wi-fi and ethernet ports to an existing system. It has no fiber, dsl, or cable connection. Also, since your U-Verse modem probably already has ethernet and wi-fi, it would only be useful if you had a really big place and wanted to add a second wi-fi point. But you'd need to run ethernet cable from your U-Verse modem to this router. I have an MR2600 and cannot recommend it, the software is pitifully lacking of features.

Can I connect a hard drive to this router to make a local cloud?

Is a wifi adapter required? My modem is a ArrisCM3200.

I am hard-wired to all my computers... I use the router to forward my ports on these systems. If you want to connect wireless to your pc then you need some type of Ethernet adapter for the router to connect too...The only device I connect to is my wireless printer and it has a built in Ethernet Card of some type...so do laptops... if your motherboard didn't come with a Wireless Ethernet Adapter then you will either have to install one via PCIe slot or a USB Wireless Adapter.
